Mutual Aid Networks: Serious Co-op Fun

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

How do we operationalize a real collaborative economy, especially the social, legal and economic frameworks that can really support us and our projects? We're finding answers!

We will demonstrate how our Mutual Aid Networks (MANs www.mutualaidnetwork.org) can redesign work and compensation to build a new economy.

Methodology: we will present a brief overview of the MANs, originating from Madison, Wisconsin, then lead participants through a work/life design and robust budgeting activity so they can see how this model can directly apply to their own lives and projects. Participants will share their experience verbally and will use new paper and/or online tools.

We will develop several new examples of how MAN budgeting and work/life design tools can provide security for a person or project. We will refine these tools through practice and feedback. We will document the session to share online for future learning.
