Before founding Ethcore, Dr. Gavin Wood was the Chief Technology Officer and co­founder of the Ethereum Project. During his time with the project, he co-­designed, formalised and implemented the Ethereum Protocol, created the Whisper protocol and devised the DEVp2p network protocol, the Solidity programming language and Mix IDE. Prior to Ethereum, he pushed the state-­of­-the-­art in video synthesis tools, audio analysis software and programming paradigms, as well as co-­founding several technology start­ups. Dr. Wood has given seminars and presented to numerous audiences around the world from keynotes at regional technology conferences to musings about the future of legal systems. He coined the terms 'web three' and 'allegality'.
