Patrick Ropert
SNCF Gares & Connexion
CEO
Patrick Ropert is CEO of SNCF Gares & Connexions. He took charge of the €1.3 Bn SNCF Group business unit in October 2014, when the French rail system was being re-structured under the watchful eye of European Commission antitrust authorities.
Patrick’s station development strategy seeks to combine multi-modal transport solutions and
enhance dense passenger traffic flows. He firmly believes stations are a vital booster of urban
dynamics, and cooperates closely with urban planners to make them an integral part of city life and landscapes. He is focusing on accelerating the growth of retail sales and services in stations, which currently account for one third of SNCF Gares & Connexions revenues.
He presides as Chairman of the Board of AREP, the largest French architecture and urban planning firm, highly active on international markets.
Patrick Ropert is also President of the Orient Express corporation. The company, renowned for its luxury long-distance train journeys since the 19th century, is currently capitalizing on its mythical brand to create added value.
