Elizabeth Wautlet is an American actress, writer and theatre instructor living in Paris. She was 5 the first time she stepped onstage... and accidentally lit her hair on fire. It’s been uphill from there. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre from Valparaiso University and a Masters from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has written and performed original work for the Inside Stories International Performance Festival in Madison, Wisconsin as well as the Montmartre Dionysia Labs and Bilingual Acting Workshop in Paris. As an actress, she's trained with R. Andrew White (Moscow Art Theatre), Leslie Hill & Helen Paris (Standford University), Sei Shiomi (The Big Funk Studio) and Chris Mack (BAW Paris), among others. She is a performer and director for The Big Funk theatre company in Paris, having performed at le théâtre Lucernaire among other venues.
As a theatre instructor, Elizabeth has led performance workshops throughout France and its overseas departments, in New Orleans (where she was part of the non-profit initiative Arts Experiences in Schools) and at the University of Pretoria in South Africa where she received a Fulbright Hays grant from the US Embassy in South Africa. She is the project director of New Voices New Projects, a Paris-based platform for emerging theatre talent, and a producer of Paris's first ever Fringe Theatre Festival. Elizabeth often provides voiceover and narration for film and television.
